MISSION, VISION AND OBJECTIVES

MAHILA JAGRITI SAMITI – RANCHI (MJS-RANCHI) is a non-profit secular voluntary organization established by a group of dedicated social workers under the leadership of Mr. Mahiram Mahto, alumni of XISS, Ranci. MJS-Ranchi was inspires by the philosophies of great thinkers like Mahatma Gandhi, Jayaprakash Narayan and Dr. Rammanohar Lohia to work for the Progress of the poor in the social strata.

MJS-Ranchi visualizes a progressive, peaceful and prosperous society with an eye to focus particularly to the downtrodden, underprivileged women belonging to the SC, ST and other backward communities with special emphasis to those who lives in the remotest corner of the hilly area.

Our mission includes to serve, protect and empower poor and vulnerable communities of rural society for their all-round welfare and development. Our objectives are to eradicate poverty, unemployment, disparity, in the rural society;

To carry on programmes for sustainable development of tiny, cottage and small industries in the rural areas;

To work for sustainable agriculture, sericulture, poultry development, goatery development, development of agro-based tiny and small industries and also development of integrated farming concept supported by solar energy with application of bio-fertilities.

To promote social forestry for safe guarding against environmental pollution and decay.

To execute, monitor and evaluate watershed development programmes particularly in remote and hilly areas, along with soil and water conservation.
